A Legacy of Financial Excellence Redefined
OVERVIEW
Trust Bank, a pioneer in financial services, faced a challenge as its digital interface did not align with its legacy and commitment to excellence, lacking clarity and sophistication. The solution involved a strategic overhaul of the website and app UI, focusing on user-friendliness and a visually appealing design to underscore Trust Bank's values. In my role as a key contributor, I focused on strategic planning and ensuring the seamless integration of the company's legacy into the revamped UI to enhance the overall user experience.
PROBLEM AND GOALS
Trust Bank, despite its esteemed legacy, faced a disconnect between its traditional values and its digital interface, which lacked clarity and sophistication. The primary problem was the discrepancy between the company's commitment to excellence and the user experience provided by its website and app. Goals included aligning the digital interface with Trust Bank's values, enhancing user-friendliness, and improving visual appeal to reflect the brand's reputation.
Trust Bank exudes a persona characterized by trustworthiness, professionalism, and reliability. With a smart and organized approach, they uphold a reputation of being respectful, transparent, and ethical in their dealings. Their credibility and competence make them a respected and dependable institution in the financial sector.

BANKING ACCESSIBILITY

BANKING SERVICE

RESEARCH
USERS AND AUDIENCE
The target audience comprises a diverse range of demographics and psychographics, including individuals of varying ages, income levels, and technological proficiency. Their needs include easy access to financial services, intuitive navigation, and a sense of trust and reliability in the bank's digital platform. Frustrations stemmed from cumbersome interfaces, lack of clarity in information presentation, and outdated design aesthetics.
USER PERSONAS
User Personas were created to represent key user segments, such as "Busy Professionals," "Tech-Savvy Millennials," and "Retirees." These personas were instrumental in guiding design decisions to meet the specific needs and preferences of each group.

DESIGN
DESIGN APPROACH/SOLUTION
Guiding principles during the design process included prioritizing user-centricity, seamless integration of legacy elements, and elevating the visual appeal to reflect Trust Bank's reputation for excellence. The moodboard aimed to evoke feelings of trust, reliability, and sophistication through clean layouts, modern typography, and cohesive color palettes.

MOOD BOARD
The moodboard selections emphasized minimalist design, with a focus on white space, sleek typography, and a harmonious blend of traditional and contemporary elements. This approach aimed to convey Trust Bank's commitment to both heritage and innovation.

DEVELOPMENT
SITE MAPPING
Site mapping involved structuring the website and app to address user needs effectively while aligning with Trust Bank's values and brand identity. The structure emphasized clear navigation pathways, intuitive labeling conventions, and logical information architecture. Before-and-after comparisons showcased significant improvements in information organization, with the new structure prioritizing accessibility and ease of use.

WIREFRAMING
The wireframing approach started with low-fidelity prototypes to quickly iterate on layout and functionality. Tools such as Adobe XD were utilized for their versatility and collaborative features. Iterations were made based on user feedback gathered through usability testing sessions.
Critical wireframing decisions included simplifying navigation menus for easier access to key features, streamlining account management processes, and enhancing visibility of important information such as account balances and transaction histories. These decisions were driven by a deep understanding of user needs and preferences identified during research phases.

FINAL DESIGNS
VISUAL DESIGNS
The design direction aimed to strike a balance between Trust Bank's traditional values and the modern digital landscape. A refined color palette comprising muted tones and accents of the bank's signature colors was chosen to convey trustworthiness and sophistication. Typography selections focused on legibility and readability, with clean sans-serif fonts enhancing clarity.
Key design decisions included the incorporation of microinteractions to provide feedback and guide user interactions seamlessly. Visual elements such as subtle animations and hover effects were implemented to enhance user engagement without compromising usability. These design elements were carefully chosen to align with both branding guidelines and user preferences, ensuring a cohesive and visually appealing interface.

PROTOTYPING AND USABILITY TESTING
Prototyping was conducted using Adobe XD to create interactive prototypes that simulated the user experience accurately. Multiple prototypes were developed to explore different design directions and gather feedback from stakeholders and end-users.
Usability testing sessions provided valuable insights into user interactions and pain points. Findings informed final design iterations, such as refining navigation pathways, optimizing form layouts for ease of completion, and enhancing accessibility features for users with disabilities. Usability challenges, such as confusion with terminology or complex account management processes, were addressed through iterative design improvements.
KEY INSIGHTS
The redesigned interface successfully addressed key user pain points, such as cumbersome navigation, lack of clarity in information presentation, and outdated design aesthetics. User feedback indicated a significant improvement in user satisfaction and perceived trustworthiness of the digital platform.
Design strengths included intuitive navigation pathways, visually appealing interface elements, and seamless integration of legacy values with modern design trends. Incorporating user-centric design principles and leveraging user feedback throughout the design process ensured that the final product met user needs effectively.
